What are your favourite farming locations for furniture blueprints or materials? Reveal your secrets! ;)

I'll start with some good locations for containers (chance of blueprints):
- Razak's Wheel (public dungeon, Bangkorai). This is a good one because all the people farming for Spriggan stuff means the mobs will usually be dead.
- Klathzgar (delve, Bangkorai). Small but with a nice handful of Dwemer urns and a couple of backpacks, easy to get to - turn left from the entrance and run down the corridor into the main room where the boss is.
- Old Orsinium (public dungeon, Wrothgar). Not as good at first glance because you have to get to the inside areas to find the containers, and less people farming means you'll have to deal with more (large and strong) mobs, but once you get to where the urns and jars are, there's a LOT of them.

Thanks ever so much Hrim for this brilliant idea! I've been doing the Mages' Guild Daily in the hope of finding the blueprints but they are really variable. It always sends you to a public dungeon. The one in Grahtwood isn't good at all nor is Crow's Wood in Stonefalls but the one in Eastmarch is quite good if you go further in than the Mages' Guild quest sends you.

I tend to farm the Resource Nodes in Craglorn, cos as well as the materials, you've got the chance of getting nirncrux.

For farming blueprints and other furniture plans I recommend:
- the bank in Vulkhel Guard in Auridon;
- all dwemer and nord ruins/delves (lots of urns etc.);
- (the best one!) breaking into houses in Anvil and Kvatch (there are tons of furniture waiting for you to be looted).

As for the nodes, just as Davey said, Craglorn ones are the best because of the chance of getting nirn. But my personal favourite is Wrothgar, maybe because I started my farming experience there and I just got used to do it right there. The nodes there are more visible for me and I even remember where the particular node is (or should be).

Have a good day everyone! :-)

Shornhelm, Rivenspire

This house has 26 possible "Recipe containers". Stay in the ground floor and first floor, run once, then relog, and go again. Best location in the game.
There's no stealing in that house...
Be sure to check "Dressers", "Drawers", "Chests", "backpacks" and really anything that isn't crate, normal sack, barrel...
Basement has nothing.

the place Andozer is showing is the manor in Shornhelm - Rivenspire Ambrosia was talking about and I can recomend also going to the small house just bellow the gaurd building...it has a few spots too :)
and ofc there is The Hollow city in Coldharbour. All the houses and shops/bank/crafting houses are good for looting without stealing

Coldharbour is good Sanne, but from the 26 containers I mentioned in Shornhelm, Coldharbour has only 35 (a few extra), but spread across so many buildings.
Shornhelm is still superior in my opinion.

that is true Andozer very true.....it takes a long time going through them all.

do any of you guys have any thoughts or experience in if there is a defference in what style of Blueprints are dropping from the different areas.....what I mean is.if I want to find AD stuff...will I have a better chance going in AD maps?.same with DC. or do I have to farm on DC or AD character to get more of those styles?

I got all sorts of items in Shornhelm but it tends to drop more depending on the alliance area you are in but I could be wrong.

Someone who posted on the official forums had been testing this drop/zone thing, but I can't find that thread now. Anyway, based on their statistics, there's a slightly higher chance of getting motifs from the races of the zone's alliance, but only slightly. So if you're after, say, Altmer motifs, you can find them anywhere but it might still make sense to farm in AD zones.

In my experience, this higher drop rate doesn't go as far as the theme of a delve, city and so on. The other day I got only Breton blueprints from Old Orsinium...

Post-Morrowind update to this thread: In case someone hasn't noticed already, ancestral tombs (the ones you can actually enter) are treasure troves for various Great House blueprints. Several quests take you into these tombs, but you can enter them even when not doing a quest. Just check every urn and you're almost guaranteed to walk out with blueprints and sometimes even ready-made housing objects (urns and the like).

For those after materials, the area where you land in Bal Foyen and before the village fence has lots of material nodes. There is also one locked container to loot. There are two chest nodes also in the area. The only problem is there are often many others running around farming.

I don't know if it's just me or the RNG, but on the Gold Coast, there's a forgotten backpack on the ground next to a skeleton, just outside the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary (on the right as you exit the rock tunnel from the sanctuary). Lately I've been getting a blueprint from it more often than not, green and blue ones and even a purple.
